Medi-SPA Centre "Medica"

Since its founding in 1986 by Dr. Miryam Vartanyan, the balneoclimatic treatment centre "Medica" at the Albena resort, has been offering higly qualified service in the sphere of medical, balneocurative and spa services. Upon founding the centre, Dr. Vartanyan organised the first ever competition for specialists, which laid the foundations of the present organisation scheme of the facility. Doctors and rehabilitators undergo educational courses during the winter months, when the facility only works for its "prestige".

Later on, within the centre's building, Prof. Dr. Feodorov's clinic opened, where the first laser eye operations in Bulgaria were performed. In 2003, after the unification of the balneological and clinical parts, Medica-Albena was designated a "medical centre".

With over 20 years of tradition, the centre has been affirmed as the largest and best organized complex in the country. Built on 2,500 m2 for the balneocurative part and just as many for the polyclinic with specialised doctors' offices, surgery, haemodialysis centre , clinical lab, image diagnostics, optician and pharmacy.

Medica-Albena is the largest and most complex in terms of services MediSpa centre in the country.

"Medica-Albena" is specialised in the treatment of all locomotor system diseases as well as the diseases of the peripheral nervous system, functional nervous diseases, upper respiratory tract problems, gynaecological and other skin diseases. Following world trends, the centre is offering increasingly more prophylactic programmes, in which the "Vital" educational programme of a healthy life, that was developed here, is the most brilliant example of this activity in Bulgaria. 

In 2008, "Medica-Albena" became the first centre in the country to be awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certificate, which is a part of its complete programme for adaptation to the growing foreign market. "Medica-Albena" is also a member of NAST (The National Association of SPA Tourism).

Since 2008 a centre has been a member of ESPA (The European SPA Association) and has received their sign as an acknowledgement of its affiliation and European quality.

Medi-SPA

The Medical center consists of an Emergency department and specialized departments. We have organized a reanimation center on the beach, which keeps constant mobile connection with the Medical Center"Medica-Albena".

The Emergency room and the manipulation room in the medical center work 24h a day. The clinical laboratory provides all kinds of medical examinations including hormonal and tumor markers. The rooms for short stay and treatment are air-conditioned and equipped with: oxygen installations, monitoring machines for checking the pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and other vitally important body parameters.

Haemodialysis centre

Albena is the only resort with a haemodialysis center, supplied with the necessary equipment, so the tourists, who depend on haemodialysis, are invited to use our services.

The center is equipped with four devices "Fresenius 4008 S" with anatomic chairs. Along with all dialysis procedures bicarbonate dialysis is also done, Highly qualified medical proffesionals take care of the patients. Every member of the team possesses considerable experience and excellent language knowledge (English, German, French, Russian and Arablanguages). HIV and HBS negative patients are treated in the Heamodialysis center.
